Upload and map assets

Assets are files that you attach to your category, product line, or item in Catalog Navigator; it can include images, PDF files, or other file types.

1. Log in to the backend tool

In the backend tool, there are many ways to upload assets. If you need help logging in you can find assistance here.

2. Upload assets

Navigate to the "Assets" tab. From here you have two choices.

  1. You can add an asset individually by naming it. Upload the file by locating it on your computer. You can also choose to “track” the asset which will require a user to submit their personal information before being able to access it.
  2. If you have multiple assets to upload, use the upload asset feature in the right-hand corner. You can direct files into this window, or browse your computer. If the file already exists in the system, you can choose to replace it, or skip it.

Another method is to go directly to the product line or item. Go to the "Properties" tab and scroll down. You'll see current assets assigned to it. Click the upload icon and locate your file, rename it, choose its behaviors, and then upload. Finally, click the "Save" button in the upper right-hand corner. Please note that it might take time for the database to render the asset.

3. Map assets

To map an asset that you've already uploaded to the database, go to the item "Properties" tab at the top of the page, and then click "Select Images" on the right-hand side. Locate the image you'd like to map. You can click and drag it into the images section. If you have additional images, you can use the same process. Once images are in the image section, you can click and drag to reorder them.

4. Manage assets

Let's go through the layout of the "Assets” tab. This tab holds all current assets on your Catalog Navigator. You can filter by type, status, or track, if you're trying to focus on a certain group of assets. If you wish to rename an asset, click on the pencil icon. On the right-hand side, you can edit the behavior of your asset. You can change the name, turn on tracking, and you can also choose a category where you'd like to map this asset.

You can even select multiple assets and perform various actions on them, turn on tracking or choose to delete them.
